Mobile Outreach

Receiving a hot meal at a San Bernardino City Mission Mobile OutreachOur Mobile Outreaches are really at the heart of what we do at the San Bernardino City Mission. Since 1997, we've been partnering with local churches to serve hungry and poor people as Jesus tells us to.

The churches provide volunteers and the use of their facilities for a specific period of time. Then, several days a week we'll set up at their locations, bringing all the food and resources to feed the hungry people who come.

Each outreach includes devotions, singing, and fun Bible memorization exercises that everyone can get involved in. There's a message, delivered by the church pastor or someone else.

And of course, there's food. Lots of good, nutritious food, prepared fresh and hot by our Mission staff. Church members can get involved by volunteering their time. It exposes them to members of the community that might have been "invisible" before, and provides them an opportunity to share the love of Christ in a practical way.

It also allows us to serve in a wide range of neighborhoods—places we might never have reached otherwise. And the people in those neighborhoods have access to vital, life-giving ministry.

Talk about a win-win!

By hosting a Mobile Outreach, your church can reach needy folks right there in your community.

We'll provide the hot meals and other items.

You provide the site and volunteers to help make it all happen.

Four days a week, the trucks leave our distribution center with hot meals, clothing, books, Bibles, and other items, and bring them to our various Mobile Outreach sites.

And then we work with the church volunteers to make the experience meaningful for everyone that shows up.

Mobile Outreaches are a blessing for everyone who participates—and they're fun too. Besides the hot meals, there's lots of great fellowship, devotions, counseling, singing, and games.

Each week we focus on a specific type of provision: hygiene kits, kids' clothing, men's clothing, women's clothing—practical things that people need.
